There have been so many good songs coming out recently.π I've narrowed them down to five of my favorites:) Sometimes it takes a while for songs to grow on me, but surprisingly, these are all songs that I LOVED the first time listening to them.
I mean, what can I say? It's DAY6. "The guys who never disappoint" is honestly such a fitting title for them. To be frank, I usually get a little apprehensive when groups that I like have a comeback, because I don't want to get my hopes up and then be let down. But the moment I began listening to this song, I kind of felt stupid for ever worrying. :P I've always been a fan of their angsty songs -I know that they don't do it that often, but I really really like them. Anyway, this song has been stuck in my head for the past few months and I know that I'll probably never get sick of it.
P.S. Also, check out the rest of their album Shoot Me: Youth Part 1. Literally, every single song on the album is really good. I have no idea how they do it but they always come out with such good songs.
Now this is a group that I am not so familiar with. The only other song I've heard from them is Face and that's a 6-year-old song. So I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to Dejavu, to say the least. The chorus is my favorite part; it's unlike anything else I've ever heard before. (Maybe it's just because I'm not that knowledgeable in music, but oh well.) I love how it is so minimalistic -- just the high vocals backed up by the low base -- it gives it this really dream like quality that fits the title Dejavu so well.
I've kept up with a couple of Stray Kids' releases and I think that they are an immensely talented group with a unique style. I haven't loved any of their songs as much as I love My Pace though. The Nanananana in the beginning already got me, and I thoroughly enjoyed the song until the very end. It's weird how I find this song dark and cute at the same time. And the lyrics bring out such a positive message; it makes the song just that much better.
This is the first solo song that I have heard from Seungri and I kind of regret not checking out his stuff sooner. I heard that this song was initially written for Blackpink, but I am really happy that Seungri is singing it because it really does suit him so well. This is one of those songs that you just can't not dance to. Seungri also has such good stage presence; even on radio shows he puts on a great performance of this song.
I don't know when I began liking "spoken choruses", but I did, and this song has such a good one. :) Again, SF9 is a group that I don't know that well but the songs that I have heard from them are all very good. There are many fun unconventional sounds in this song that makes it border on EDM, which I really appreciate. Oh! I also love when Korean songs play with words, like how in this song, it sounds like they are saying "baby don't be so jealous," but that's not what they are saying at all. :P
